Don’t Go Chasing Waterfalls (sorry couldn’t help myself)

So in my first real post on this blog I talked about how the amount of fun in my life consistently decreases as each year passes. I also talked about how I was going to make it a point to change that. Without adventure and fun life is utterly dry and boring and who wants that? Definitely not me. Now I won’t lie and say that since I’ve written that post that I’ve completely changed my life and have gone all Indiana Jones, cause I definitely haven’t. But I am taking baby steps towards having an all around more interesting, care-free, and fun life. Take for instance, my recent trip to Old Roswell Mills.

It’s this area nearby the Chattahoochee with a historical mill and waterfall that up until recently, I had no idea existed. For years I’d been wanting to see and swim in a waterfall but I could never find one. That is until last week. My friend told me about it and less than 24 hours later, I was there.

My boyfriend and I took the long way to the waterfall, doing a three mile up hill hike. It was a work out but it’s not like we couldn’t use one and it was definitely worth it. We explored around the stream near the waterfall (even saw a snake) and then finally settled down on a rock next to the waterfall. It was so amazing that I went again the next day. This time with the friend who initially told me about it. And we saw another snake.

I’ve really been becoming one with nature this past week and I have no complaints. No, I take that back. My only complaint is the abundance of snakes there seems to be. Besides that, it’s been amazing. I’m going again on Monday if the weather permits.
